The Power of Colors

Painting your walls is, without a doubt, the single most transforming tool for any living space, however choosing a color can be a challenge.



When picking a color for your rooms you might want to keep in mind that every color has its character and can affect your moods and feelings.


Blue


Blue is the color of the mind and is essentially soothing. Strong blues will stimulate clear thought and lighter, soft blues will calm the mind and aid concentration. Consequently it is serene and mentally calming. Blue can also help to maintain concentration, lower the heart rate, and boost productivity. Blue works great on bedrooms, bathrooms, office spaces and even living rooms.


Red


Red is a powerful color. Although not technically the most visible, it has the property of appearing to be nearer than it is and therefore it grabs our attention first. Its effect is physical; it stimulates us and raises the pulse rate, giving the impression that time is passing faster than it is. It is stimulating and lively, very friendly. Red is better suited for areas like the kitchen or dining room due to its association with hunger. Workout rooms can also be a good place to use red because it excites and stimulates.


Yellow


Yellow is essentially stimulating. In this case the stimulus is emotional, it lift our spirits and our self-esteem; it is the color of confidence and optimism. Lighter shades of yellow are a good idea for the living room or bathroom, however Too much of it, or the wrong tone in relation to the other tones in a color scheme, can cause self-esteem to plummet, giving rise to fear and anxiety.


Green


Green it is the color of balance it is associated tranquility, healing, and peacefulness. Green is suited for almost any room of the house. Green also has a calming effect when used as a main color for decorating. It is believed to relieve stress by helping people relax. It is also believed to help with fertility, making it a great choice for the bedroom.


Violet


It takes awareness to a higher level of thought, even into the realms of spiritual values. It encourages deep contemplation, or meditation. It has associations with royalty and usually communicates the finest possible quality. This can be a great option for a living room, bedroom or office.


Orange


Since it is a combination of red and yellow, orange is stimulating and reaction to it is a combination of the physical and the emotional. It focuses our minds on issues of physical comfort and sensuality. this color is great for an exercise room; it will bring out all the emotions that you need released during your fitness routine


Pink


Being a tint of red, pink also affects us physically, but it soothes, rather than stimulates. Pink is a powerful color, psychologically. It represents the feminine principle, and survival of the species; it is nurturing and physically soothing. Pink is a good choice for bedrooms and bathrooms, and it can also work well on accents walls.


Gray


Gray is a cool, neutral, and balanced color, it is an emotionless, moody color that is typically consider formal, conservative, and sophisticated. Gray is suited for any rooms but is works best with bright colors contrast to bring the rooms to life.


White


White is total reflection. In effect, it reflects the full force of the spectrum into our eyes. White is purity, it is clean, hygienic, and innocence. It is very popular for bathrooms and because of its clean and modern look, white can be utilized to make other colors stand out.


Brown


Brown is warm and soft. It has elements of the red and yellow properties. Brown has associations with the earth and the natural world. It is a solid, reliable color and most people find it quietly supportive, it is often associated with resilience, dependability, security, and safety. It’s a great color to use in the kitchen, dining room, or living room.
